Steve Wood, a Temple News writer, decided a few weeks ago that he would take the non-conventional route for spring break. To save a few dollars, Steve decided that he would spend his week off relaxing on the streets of Philadelphia...homeless. With only a few basic necessities, Steve has set out to figure out what it's really like to have no place to call home.
Although Philadelphia's Love Park was once a haven for the homeless; it has now become a rarity to see the homeless camped out on the benches.
At the abandoned warehouse on Broad and Poplar, it is a common sight to see several individuals camped out, tightly wrapped in their worn clothes and tattered blankets.
